Services and pricing

Here's what's included in monthly bookkeeping and what it costs.

What's included every month

Everything happens in QuickBooks Online, and your books are closed by the date we set together, usually the 20th. Every month, I:

  • Categorize every transaction in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile your bank and credit card accounts
  • Match payouts from your sales channels (POS, online store, invoicing) to your bank deposits
  • Track sales tax in the books for the jurisdictions we agree on
  • Record payroll from your payroll provider's reports
  • Close the month and send you a Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
  • Write a short summary of what changed that month
  • Hand everything off to your tax preparer at year-end

Pricing

Your monthly fee is based on how many transactions you have and how involved your books are. It's a flat fee, and I don't bill by the hour.

Starter

Up to about 75 transactions a month

Starting at$400/month

Standard

About 76 to 200 transactions a month

Starting at$600/month

Growth

About 201 to 350 transactions a month

Starting at$875/month

All three include everything on the monthly list. Your exact price comes after a free review of your books, and you'll have it in writing before you commit to anything. Extra accounts, inventory, or multiple locations can put you above the starting price. Over 350 transactions a month? Let's talk.

Not sure how many transactions you have? Count the lines on one month's bank and card statements, or I'll figure it out during the free review.

What affects your price

  • Transactions each monthThe biggest factor
  • Bank and credit card accountsHow many I reconcile
  • InventoryIf you track it
  • Class or location trackingIf it's detailed
  • More than one entityEach one has its own books

How billing works

Your fee is charged on the 1st by bank transfer, or by card if you ask. The scope is written down before we start, so you know exactly what's covered.

There's no long-term contract. Either of us can end things with 30 days' notice.

Add-ons

Anything outside the monthly work is quoted as a flat fee, in writing, before I start.

Catch-up and cleanup

Flat fee after review

Behind on your books, or never quite set up right? I'll get you current so monthly service starts clean.

Sales tax filing

Per jurisdiction

I prepare and file your sales tax returns for the jurisdictions we list together.

1099s

Case by case

Year-end 1099s for your contractors, after I look at your vendor records.

Why only QuickBooks Online

Knowing one system really well makes me faster and more accurate, and you aren't paying for me to learn a new platform on your books.

If you're on something else, moving to QuickBooks Online can be scoped as its own project.

Pricing questions

Don't see yours? Call me at (720) 491-1537 or send me a note.

Do you only work in QuickBooks Online?

Yes. QuickBooks Online is the only system I work in, so I know it really well. If you're on something else, moving to QuickBooks Online can be scoped as its own project.

My books are a mess. Is that a problem?

That's okay! The free review will show where things stand. If your books need catching up before monthly service starts, I'll quote the cleanup as a flat fee before any work begins.

How long does it take to get started?

After our free call, the review takes up to five business days, and then you'll have a flat monthly price in writing. Once you say yes, we pick your close date and I get started.

Do you do taxes?

I don't prepare tax returns or give tax advice. I work alongside your CPA or tax preparer, and at year-end I hand your books off to them. Sales tax filing is available as an add-on.

Do you run payroll?

I don't run payroll, but I record it in your books every month using your payroll provider's reports.

Is there a long-term contract?

There isn't. Either of us can end the arrangement with 30 days' notice.

How does billing work?

Your flat fee is charged on the 1st of each month by bank transfer, or by card if you'd prefer.
